Find the Residential Density of a Location

Residential density, as calculated here, represents household density of residential areas, in contrast to population density on total land area. By the same methods utilized for the H+T Index, this calculator retrieves residential density estimates for any address in the country. Using the 2010 U.S. Census Summary File 1, total households are obtained at the block level. Blocks are then selected on the criteria that gross density (households per land acre) must be greater than one. From these selected blocks, both households and land acres are aggregated to the block group level, at which level residential density is calculated.
